Welcome
Hello and welcome to my digital e-portfolio. My name is Lauren Langley and I am in my final year of studying as a pre-service teacher within Flinders University, South Australia. I have almost reached the end of my degree in the Bachelor of Education (Primary R-7)/Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Visual Arts.
I began my journey as a teacher due to my love of children, my passion to learn and help educate others. Teaching is an exhausting job some might say, but when you find that inspiration and drive within like I do, it no longer becomes a job. Instead it becomes a hobby that is one in a million. Every day is a new one that will surprise you and always keep you on your toes.
I have a passion for visual art and combine it into my teaching. Some think that visual art is just drawing and doesn’t contain much learning within the curriculum framework. I have an aim to prove them wrong, as visual art contains critical and creative thinking which is actually surrounding every subject area within the curriculum and without it we don’t create individualized lessons for our students to shine through their knowledge.
Within this e-portfolio you will find my Personal Philosophy Statement, along with the AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. The standards that are linked contain evidence and resources to show that I have obtained graduate level.
Thank you for reading my Professional Portfolio, I hope you enjoy and this insight as to who I am as a teacher.
